Former National striker Luton Shelton is dead!

Sheldon died on Thursday at the Andrew Memorial Hospital fater suffering complications due to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

The 35-year-old striker, a past student of Wolmer's Boys who also represented his school and Harbour View United Football Club locally, played with overseas clubs including Sheffield United in England, Helsingborges in Sweden and Valerenga Football in Norway.


A true ambassador, represented Jamaica 75 times scoring 35 goals.

He had been suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). An illness that causes the motor neurons inside the spinal cord to die and over time causes muscles to muscles degenerate progressively eliminating the ability of the affected person to move, speak, swallow and, eventually, breathe.
