HUGE WESTMORLAND GANJA SEIZURE

Police officers in Westmoreland arrested eleven persons including four Costa Ricans and seize approximately 1000 pounds of ganja and two motor cars in Sweer River district, Westmoreland on Tuesday, February 06.

Reports are that about 11:00 am., lawmen carried out an operation in the Sweet River district when they discovered a makeshift shed in bushes with several men and a woman in the process of compressing and packaging ganja.

The ganja along with the two motor cars were seized and the group of handlers arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The ganja has an estimated street value of JMD 4 million.

The identities of the eleven are being withheld pending further investigations.
