MAN IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING FIREARM AND AMMO SEIZURE IN ST THOMAS

Detectives assigned to the St. Thomas Police Division are now questioning a man who was taken into custody following the seizure of a firearm in Land Top, Morant Bay in the parish on Monday, January 29.

Reports are that about 5:30 a.m., a Police party conducted special operations at a premises in the area and found one 9mm Sig Sauer semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing four 9mm cartridges in the man’s possession. The firearm and the ammunition were seized.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
