CURFEW FOR SECTIONS OF SPANISH TOWN
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A curfew has been imposed in sections of Spanish Town, St Catherine.
The curfew began at 6:00 pm last night and will remain in effect until 6:00 pm tomorrow.
The boundaries of the curfew are as follows:
NORTH – along Twickenham main road from Rio Cobre River to Jones Avenue;
SOUTH – along an imaginary line about 400 metres from Jones Avenue to Rio Cobre;
EAST – along Jones Avenue from Twickenham main road; and
WEST- along Rio Cobre River to Twickenham main road;
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
The curfew in St Catherine comes on the heels of a state of public emergency that was imposed in the western parish of St James yesterday — the latest measure in the country's fight against crime.
